Sia "Nestlé Baltics" provides assistance to socially vulnerable groups worth 200 thousand euros

Nestlé Baltics is stepping up its global response to the COVID-19 pandemic and providing support to socially vulnerable groups. With the help of Maisto Banka in Lithuania, Toidupank in Estonia and the Latvian Samaritan Association in Latvia, they will be supplied with approximately 170,000 products worth 150 thousand euros. The donation includes food for adults, coffee and sweets.

"Since the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we in the Baltics have made every efforts to help fight the virus. By observing that some social groups now need special support, we are stepping up their needs. Our donations are aimed at those working in the healthcare sector, the sick, the isolated and those who need special care, as well as those who have limited access to the necessary food products," says Zhua Nuneš, CEO of Nestlé Baltics Ltd.

Nestlé's food donation will reach lonely, elderly and quarantined people, as well as those in the care of various foundations and nursing homes.

In response to the growing need for support for the medical sector, the company additionally redirects EUR 50 thousand, intended for the purchase of medical protective equipment in all three Baltic States: EUR 20 thousand - "Medikų Sąjūdis" in Lithuania, 15 thousand - "Eesti Perearstide Selts", and another 15 thousand euros - to the Latvian Association of Infectologists, Hepatologists and HIV/AIDS Specialists (LIHHASA).

Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, Nestlé offers assistance in 187 countries. In the fight against this pandemic, the company provides support to charities, medical institutions and other organizations. Recently, Nestlé also joined forces with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
