In the first half of the year, nestlé group sales amounted to almost 43 billion Swiss francs

In the first half of this year, the Nestlé group's sales amounted to almost 42.8 billion Swiss francs. Organic business growth reached 4.5 percent and real average growth 1.7 percent. Paul Bulcke, General Manager of Nestlé, says such results are perfectly in line with expectations and this year's plan.

In the first half of this year, nestlé group net profit was almost 4.5 billion Swiss francs, while operating profit margins reached 15 percent. Earnings due per share grew 7.3 per cent in the first six months of this year to reach 1.43 Swiss francs.

"The first half of the year's results in all markets and areas of activity were in line with our expectations. They show that our strategy to emphasize the importance and health of nutrition is correct. Investment in new health science and skin health platforms is justified, good results are shown by our food and beverage companies. This makes it possible to confirm that the 2015 plan will be implemented," said Mr Bulcke, Director General of Nestlé.

In developed markets, Nestlé's business growth accelerated to 2.2 percent, it also remained rapid in emerging markets and reached 7.3 percent.

Nestlé forecasts organic business growth to reach around 5 percent this year, as well as an increase in profit margins and profits owed per share, as well as increased capital efficiency.
