Baltic animal shelters and pet welfare organizations, which are under additional pressure during the COVID-19 pandemic, will receive support from Purina. As this company aims to support pets and their lovers, it has delivered €75,000 worth of meals worth €50,000 to help four-legged friends living in shelters and families struggling with the crisis.

"We at Purina care about the well-being of pets, so we also support those pets who have not been lucky in their lives and who have not yet found their owners or live in low-income families. At this time, we want to be with those who work in shelters on a daily basis to provide pets with the care and food they need. Thanks to the volunteers from the Food Bank "For a tired Latvia" and shelters for everything they do for pets," says Ade Merilai, Business Manager at Nestlé Baltics.

The aid is intended for the following animal shelters and welfare organisations in all three Baltic States: Ulubele, Animal SOS, Pūkainis.lv, SOS gyvunai, Tautmilės Globa, Gyvūnų namai, Eesti Toidupank, Eaten Latvia.

According to A. Merrill, the purpose of the donation is to help shelters and promote their important work for animals, as well as to support pet owners so that they do not have to give up their food due to a lack of funds.

In total, Purina has donated more than 2 million dog and cat meals to more than 15 European, Middle Eastern and North African (EMEN) countries.
