Nestlé Baltics introduces additional measures for employees to ensure their safety and financial stability

Nestle imasi papildomų priemonių darbuotojų saugumui

In an attempt to reduce the impact of the coronavirus epidemic on the professional and personal lives of employees, Nestlé has introduced special benefit packages around the world, including in the Baltics. In this way, the company wants to express its appreciation and support employees who play a key role in working tirelessly during the COVID-19 crisis to ensure that food supplies are maintained and the needs of the population are satisfied.

"People are the foundation of our business. Therefore, the health and safety of our employees, business partners and the communities in which we operate is of paramount importance to us. Through these measures, we want to support employees and thank those who carry out their work every day with great commitment, ensuring continuity of product delivery to the inhabitants of the Baltic States," says Natalija Pipariene, HR Manager in the Baltic States.

Nestlé supports warehouse, factory and office workers worldwide who need to be present at the workplace (so-called frontline workers). In the Baltics, Nestlé introduces payments of EUR 9 per working day for employees who have to work in the office in order to perform their tasks. The additional remuneration is intended to compensate employees for inconveniences and additional costs associated with working away from home and without remote work opportunities. It shall be introduced retroactively from 16 March in the case of monthly reimbursements. For employees who perform their daily work duties at the company's premises rather than from home, the amount of the additional remuneration may amount to almost EUR 200 gross.

If a position is temporarily suspended, the company guarantees employees the payment of basic salary for 12 weeks. The company also introduces special advantages in the event that one of its employees suffers from coronavirus – nestlé guarantees 100% compensation payments. If an employee is affected by COVID-19, additional medical expenses not covered by insurance will be reimbursed. In the event that the employee must remain in quarantine without the possibility of remote work, the company guarantees the payment of remuneration in the amount of 80%. We encourage employees to work from home and stay safe.
