Nestlé marked in the 2020 Bloomberg Gender Equality Index

Nestlé has been awarded the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index 2020 (GEI) for its transparency in gender equality reviews and the promotion of women's equality. It highlights Nestlé's efforts to empower women throughout the value chain and to ensure equal rights for all workers.

The GEI Reference Index measures gender equality in five main directions: female leadership and talent driven, adequate pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment prevention policies, and a brand that supports women. Nestlé's diversity and integration programmes remain the best in the industry in most of these directions.

"We are honored to have been included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index again. This is a recognition of the important steps we are taking to achieve gender balance and make Nestlé an even more inclusive workplace. Recently, we introduced a new International Parental Support Policy, recognising that parental roles are no longer determined solely by gender. Under this policy, parental leave for primary carers has been extended from the previous 14 weeks to 18 weeks of fully paid leave, with at least four weeks' leave for secondary carers," said Beatrice Guillaume-Grabisch, head of human resources at nestlé group.

Nestlé's new International Parental Support Policy is based on the company's efforts to create a more inclusive workplace. Last year Nestlé developed an action plan to increase the number of women in senior management positions worldwide by 2022.

Gender balance is a key element of Nestlé's approach to diversity and inclusion. It is an integral part of Nestlé's culture.
